松山の色 - The Color of Matsuyama

To be honest I like to keep to myself. I’m not much into sharing every little detail, every victory, every painful moment and most of the time I’m not big on sharing my pictures. That might sound strange but part of taking my break from doing photograph work was stepping away from social media and having to share where I’ve been, who I’ve seen and what’s next. As a creative there’s always that pressure of what’s next. I can’t tell you all how much you guys and girls out there who’ve been rooting for me to get back on the horse and work on the things I love and be the artist that I am. I just wanted to say this before talking about an opportunity that was given to me by people that believed in me. An opportunity to go somewhere I’d never been, meet people I wouldn’t have and see colors that changed me.

The Color of Matsuyama

If you’ve never been to Japan I HIGHLY recommend PON JUICE 「ポンジュース」it’s an orange juice that is out of this world. Easily my favorite orange juice. A photographer friend of mine, David Steel [ https://www.davidsteelphotography.com ]Not only does he have an awesome name but he’s a great photographer and a great guy. But getting back to why he’s important to this story, he introduced me to another awesome photographer Adam Isfendiyar [ https://www.adamisfendiyar.com ] who introduced me to shoot for Panasonic in Ehime, Japan.

If you don’t know much about Japanese geography, Ehime prefecture is on the northwest quarter of Shikoku Island which is near somewhatly near Hiroshima. It’s quite far from Yokohama, where I am and to get there you’ll need to fly. When I lived in Tokyo my friend Shingo was from Ehime and his mom used to send him these super juicy and delicious mikan oranges. Mikan oranges are easily my favorite fruit to eat here. So when I got the job to go to Matsuyama, the capital of Ehime, in my mind it was a given that I’d be devouring some oranges. Unfortunately, they were out of season… so I didn’t. BUT I did have an amazing time in a great city and I wanted to share some pics from that adventure with you guys on the new blog. Hopefully I can do more like this if you all are interested.

Again HUGE THANK YOU to David and Adam. I owe you guys some drinks ;)
