Tourist Time Adventure with Lucien pt.3
Tourist Time Adventure with Lucien pt.3
It was a great day, but it was almost time to call it a night and part ways.
Now the night was winding down and it was time to head back. Monday was quickly approaching and the snacks from China Town weren’t filling enough so we made our way to 赤レンガ倉庫 , The Red Brick Warehouse. This used to be the first international port of Japan. Yokohama was the first port town to welcome people from other countries so what better place to take him right?
The Red Brick Warehouse at night during one of their many festivals.
Most all of the pictures from these three blog post were taking with my phone so the night quality fall a bit but it was more about the adventure than making prints.
The Red Brick has lots of shops, and restaurants with reasonable prices and a few more expensive places, but we went to the food court to just get something quick and chill. I was so hungry I got a burger and gobbled it up so fast I forgot to take a picture, but I think Hiro got Chinese noodles… maybe the smell of all that Chinese food in China Town had her wanting more so she got 担々麵 Tantanmen and if I remember correctly Lucien got a burger as well.
Of all the ramens, I have to say tantanmen was one of the first ones I fell in love with, when it’s done right. There are lots of different kinds but I like the spicy, walnut flavor ones. People who know, know what I’m talking about. That with some 餃子 dumplings on the side, and if you want to go super overboard throw some 麻婆豆腐 maboudofu on the side as well… and it’s oily spicy heaven.
Once we finished eating we made our way to Minato Mirai to catch a train back to Yokohama station. The Minato Mirai area at night is just one of the best. The tall buildings, the lights, the calm hum of the city and with all that it’s still very peaceful. No wonder it’s one of the major date spots in Yokohama. There is lots to do, lots to see, interesting people, events, foods, and attractions. I know people come to Japan for Tokyo but the ones who don’t see Yokohama, in my opinion, and yes I’m bias, are missing out.
On our walk back we heard some loud music playing and wanted to check it out. It was about 3 or 4 cars that had KILLER SOUND SYSTEMS in their cars and they were blasting all kinds of music. It was like a free night concert. Yes, I know I just said how peaceful it was but, yeah this was just crazy. I can’t lie, I danced a little bit! LOL!
It was time to go and if you know anything about Yokohama especially at night. You know people love the Ferris wheel. It’s one of the major attractions at the local amusement park Cosmo World. So before we took off and headed home Lucien wanted to get some pictures of the Ferris wheel for the memory of Yokohama. It was a great time and I know he had fun. We had a blast having you and hope everyone can come and check out the beautiful city of Yokohama!
